Now Recruiting for CCNA Discovery Course
The widely respected Cisco Career Certifications bring valuable, measurable rewards to those seeking a career in IT, networking professionals and the organizations that employ them.
CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration are two new courses in the next
generation of Cisco CCNA® curricula and offer accelerated learning
opportunities for those students looking to gain an entry level job within an
IT support or networking environment. Find out more about the new CCNA curricula from Cisco Systems.
Edinburgh job seekers can now achieve their first Cisco networking certification in our 6-month, part-time, pilot training course, leading to the new Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT® ) accreditation, a first step towards the CCNA.
Industry related job roles include Help Desk Technician, Customer Support Representative, PC Support Specialist, Technical Support Representative, and First Line Support in Small Business and Internet Service Provider settings.
Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT®)
This course covers the first two CCNA Discovery curriculum courses, and prepares students for the new CCENT accreditation in;
- Networking for Home and Small Businesses
- Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP
The curriculum is organised around the types of work environments students may encounter, such as a home or small office, and students develop applied, practical skills early in the curriculum. The certification prepares students for entry-level networking support positions and provides an assessment of their aptitude and competence for working with Cisco routers, switches and Cisco IOS™
Students who enroll in a CCNA Discovery training programme are not expected to have any previous technical skills or knowledge, aside from basic PC skills. The course is suitable for all jobseekers, particularly those aged 16-25, looking to gain their first job in IT and for those seeking to re-train or re-skill in this area. We encourage young people who are not in education, employment or training to apply.
Individuals must be unemployed, living in Edinburgh and actively seeking work.
Our first CCENT course starts 4th February 2008. Find out more and apply online.
