ECTA: Edinburgh Community Technology Academy

ECTA Launch

We had a very enjoyable evening at the official ECTA launch event last week.

Joining ECTA trainees at Net Resources Academy were guests from Microsoft and Cisco, and a wide range of Edinburgh employers and Joined up for Jobs agencies.

We took a few photos during the evening, and you can see some of them and read the rest of the story here.

After a short opening by Roger Horam of Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, the audience enjoyed a very positive and encouraging address by Raymond O'Hare, General Manager for Microsoft in Scotland in which projects like ECTA were promised ongoing support from Microsoft.

Tony Grebbin, from Cisco Systems Public Sector Team in Scotland also wished the ECTA initiative every success.

During the evening, there was time to look around the Cisco Networking Academy training centre and explore some of the lab equipment. In this picture, some of our first CCNA trainees are looking at some of the rack mounted Cisco switches and routers.

We also enjoyed some food and wine, and more human networking.
