CCENT

CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration are two new courses in the next generation of Cisco CCNA® curricula and offer accelerated learning opportunities for those students looking to gain an entry level job within an IT support or networking environment. Students can now achieve their first Cisco networking certification on our 6-month, part-time, pilot programme.

CCNA Discovery maps to everyday experiences with networks. The curriculum is organised around the types of work environments students may encounter, such as a home or small office, and students develop applied skills early in the curriculum.

Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT®)

CCENT® is a first step toward earning Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) accreditation, which is the foundational certification for networking careers.

Students who complete all four CCNA Discovery courses will be prepared for the industry-standard CCNA certification exam.

This pilot programme covers the first two CCNA Discovery curriculum courses, and prepares learners for the new ICND1 640-822 exam and CCENT accreditation;

  • Networking for Home and Small Businesses
  • Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP

CCENT® certifies that students have developed the practical skills required for entry-level networking support positions. In addition, this certification is designed to assess a student’s aptitude and competence for working with Cisco routers, switches and Cisco IOS™.

Industry related jobs

CCENT® accreditation suits people returning to work, entering work after a long break and those looking to enter the IT industry to differentiate themselves.

Students who enroll in CCNA Discovery are not expected to have any previous technical skills or knowledge, aside from basic PC skills.

Typical job titles include Help Desk Technician, Customer Support Representative, PC Support Specialist, Technical Support Representative, and First Line Support in Small Business and  Internet Service Provider settings.
